The forest is one large pantry waiting to be foraged. In the north Swedish forest you can fill your food supply with mushrooms and berries, a common hobby among inhabitants of the area.
The most common berries are blueberries, rasperries, lingonberries, and of course our very own edible gold; cloudberries. These can all be frozen for winter, or made into jam, marmelades and juices.
Wonderful edible mushrooms can also be found in the municipality. Some of these include penny buns, wood hedgehog, gypsy mushroom, All these can be found in leaf and coniferous forests. To find chanterelles one should move toward the arctic area.
