Swampsoccer was first arranged in 2004 out on Norrheden marsh. The event brought in masses of players and visitors, which is why it was continued and adjusted in the following years. After finding an arena closeby Storuman’s center, it found three whole fields. These are hydrated and filled with mud early in preparation for the annual championship.

The swamp soccer phenomenon was initially founded in Finland by skiiers who wanted a more fun way to stay in shape and improve their aerobic abilities. There is no question that swamp soccer is exhausting and healthy, but make no mistake. It’s also immensely fun.
