Caretaker personell includes assistant nurses and hospital hands, a very important workgroup that works closest to the patient. Those working with caretaking work with older persons as well as ones with disabilities to help them with their daily needs. Work assignments are based on the patient’s needs and aim to support and develop the resources of elderly persons. Everything from helping them get dressed, to partaking in social activities together with them. Cleaning and other housekeeping responsibilities are included in the work assignments.
Those working in domestic healthcare may also execute various medicinal tasks such as dressing wounds, distributing dosette medicine, and injecting insulin. These tasks are distributed by a nurse in charge. As an assistant nurse, one also works in the collective health departments as well as at clinics at medicabins.
